The Curriculum and Instruction Department works collaboratively with principals, teachers, and school/community stakeholders to create, implement, evaluate, and revise exemplary educational programs. As school system stakeholders, we jointly support academic excellence, provide relevant as well as engaging instruction, and promote a safe and inclusive school culture. Our goal is that each child has the opportunity to develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically to his or her greatest potential.
Curriculum development is a systematic process that promotes improvements in the educational system. Curriculum development processes are often at the center of change in the school system. The school system engages in a continuous cycle of planning, professional development, program implementation, evaluation, and revision with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Once instructional and program goals and objectives are clear and targeted to meet student needs, student success is not far behind.
Aligned learning experiences bring the curriculum to life within teaching and learning processes. Effectiveness studies and research-based decision making are important components of the work of the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Instructional supervisors and lead teachers support the implementation of varying types of student assessment, the selection and deployment of dynamic instructional resources, and a focus on rigorous and relevant curriculum content.
Thanks for entrusting us with your children. Be assured that we take that honor and responsibility seriously and will do everything possible to provide a teaching and learning experience that supports student growth and that will ultimately lead each child to being college and/or career ready.
