Sevier County School System offers CTE (Career and Technical Education) courses in each of the five county high schools (Gatlinburg Pittman High, Northview Academy, Pigeon Forge High, Sevier County High, Seymour High). All programs offer relevant, real-world applications to support students being college and career ready. Each program of study is aligned to current labor market trends within Tennessee, especially East Tennessee and Sevier County. Examples of some of the programs offered include Agriculture Science, Architecture and Construction, Business Management, Education, Health Science Occupations, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Services, Law and Public Safety, Visual Arts, and more. If interested in taking a course, learning a trade skill, or preparing for an exciting career, CTE may be for you. Please contact a guidance counselor at any of the five high schools or the CTE office at 453-4671 for more information.
Tennessee's Career & Technical Education consists of 16 nationally recognized career clusters with the ultimate goal of preparing students for success at the postsecondary level and in their chosen careers. Tennessee's career clusters are organized into 16 broad categories that encompass virtually all occupations from entry through professional levels and are aligned with the U.S. Department of Education's structure of career and technical education (CTE).
Career clusters identify the knowledge and skills needed to follow a pathway toward career goals and provide a context for exploring the many occupational options available. Each cluster is divided into different pathways that are grouped by the knowledge and skills required for occupations in these career fields.
