COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS
The Tennessee Department of Education is focused on making Tennessee the state with the fastest improving student achievement, and on preparing students for college and careers. Tennessee is the first state in the nation to have a fully funded K-14 public education. The Tennessee Department of Education oversees the implementation of academic standards and policies adopted by the State Board of Education, as well as instructional practices that help students succeed. The Sevier County School System is committed to supporting students in becoming college and career ready.
The Sevier County Partners in Progress Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation chartered by the State of Tennessee in April 2016. The Foundation was created to benefit the education endeavors of the young people in Sevier County. The scholarship fund is used to assist area high school students with tuition for dual enrollment classes at Walters State Community College and tuition assistance for students pursuing a four-year degree at East Tennessee State University in Sevierville.
