The Sevier County School System held its 30th annual countywide Spelling Bee on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Northview Academy. The event showcased the spelling talents of 30 students from 17 schools across the district, ranging from fourth to eighth grade.
After 15 intense rounds, Julia Wilder, a fifth grader from Jones Cove Elementary, emerged as the champion by correctly spelling "meridian" and Gracelynn Reece, a fifth grader from Catlettsburg Elementary, secured second place. The competition continued for five more rounds before, and Jazmyne Justus, an eighth grader from Pigeon Forge Junior High, claimed third place.
