| Dr. Jack A. Parton |
|
In September of 1988, Dr. Jack A. Parton was elected superintendent of the Sevier County School System. In 2000, he was appointed by the Sevier County Board of Education as Director of Schools. Prior to serving as superintendent, Dr. Parton served as both a teacher and assistant principal in the Sevier County School System and as the mayor of Gatlinburg. Dr. Parton oversees over 14,000 students and more than 2,000 professional, paraprofessional, and auxiliary staff.

Dr. Parton holds several educational degrees to include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D), a Specialist in Education (Ed.S), a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.S.), and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). He is currently a member of the East Tennessee Superintendents' Study Council (ETSSC), the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS), the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), and the American Association of School Administrators (AASA).
Throughout his career, Dr. Parton has served public education as well as city, county, and state government through a variety of leadership roles, including the following:
